Transitsearch was organized in 2001 by Professor Gregory Laughlin of the University of California at Santa Cruz and by Dr. Tim Castellano of the NASA Ames Research Center. From June 2004 through June 2007, the Transitsearch.org website was supported by a grant from the NASA Origins Program (Principal Investigator was G. Laughlin).
